Spice Cabinet Recipe: Immunity Boosting Wellness Coffee

Rest. Be kind. Think collectively. Be well.
Hi friends. A little update from me. During this time of heightened awareness I’ve personally made the decision to stay in solitude. Many cities around the world have already instated quarantine policies, and in other places it’s become a recommendation to support immunity and the overall wellness of ourselves and our communities. I’m considering my eating habits, my vitamin, mineral and herbal intake and taking action to keep my body feeling healthy and immune system firing at 100%.

I’m keeping the mantra above at the top of mind: Rest. Be kind. Think collectively. Be well.

If you’re wondering what you can do to increase your general immunity and if there’s scientifically proven ways of building a stronger immune system I’m here with a quick beverage recipe that can do just that.

Turmeric Cardamon Cinnamon Coffee - ouiwegirl.com

I asked yesterday in instagram stories how you’re all coping with the Covid-19 outbreak, and how I can help. The general consensus is we’re all experiencing so much disruption no matter who we are and what we do in our day to day. Many of you asked for ideas for simple wellness and guided practices to keep the mind right. 🧘🏼‍♀️🌹✨ And, I’m so here for that!

I’m starting with this simple recipe I shared on stories. So many of you said you were interested in trying it.

As most of us will be tightening our budgets I chose ingredients for this immunity boosting wellness coffee blend that are straight out of the spice cabinet. I do love my adaptogenic and herbal blends, but when the dollars are tight this coffee will up your immunity on the cheap and is such a treat too.

Here’s the recipe.

Sunshine Immunity Boosting Wellness Coffee

  • decaf espresso (I’m personally on a caffeine detox, however even if you aren’t reducing your caffeine intake decaf will calm the day to day anxiety. Of course you’re welcome to use the regular stuff if that’s what you prefer!)

  • ginger powder (or fresh ginger if you have it)

  • cardamom

  • cinnamon

  • turmeric

  • a splash of non-dairy cream

Brew your coffee as you normal would.

Add the spices and non-dairy creamer into your frother and blend. Don’t have a frother? Just stir, stir, stir.

These spices are all known as “warming spices” in Ayurvedic medicine — and warming spices heat us up from the inside which keeps the body feeling happy. Plus these particular spices are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant rich and are natural virus fighters.

I’ll be sharing more tips and ideas as I spend the coming days at home. I’d love to keep hearing from you all. Drop a comment below or send me a message over on IG!

Stay safe, healthy and sane out there,

Andi

Here’s the exact ingredients I use. All available to be delivered from Amazon.
