Living Your Design with PR Expert & Human Design Reader Kaila O'Connor
Growing up as a competitive dancer and music performer, it may be hard to believe that Kaila O’Connor spent her twenties battling her identity as a lesbian while experiencing years of work-related panic attacks in a PR career and crippling anxiety from an on-again, off-again abusive relationship.
On her 29th birthday, Kaila left her abusive relationship for the last time and moved to Los Angeles alone to experience a fresh start with what she thought was her dream PR job. Three months later, she discovered Human Design accepting and coming home to her 6/2 Splenic Projector identity.
Like a classic Saturn Return love story, Kaila’s 29th and 30th years of life were spent experimenting with freelance work, becoming a reiki master practitioner and certified animal communicator, accepting a job in affiliate marketing (which she knew nothing about), reconnecting with and marrying her soulmate from college and finally moving to Chicago to be with her.
After working 10+ years in various PR agencies and feeling burnt out, low worth, and a lack of abundance, affiliate marketing and human design changed her life.
Kaila started her company KMO Consulting, while wearing the scars of her life experiences with pride. She’s a self-taught pioneer in this new age of Affiliate PR. With a rolodex of key editor relationships and intuitive decision-making guided by her Human Design chart, Kaila’s proven ability to generate high-revenue media coverage has disrupted the PR industry and its “always on the grind” mentality.
Kaila is on a mission to shift societal and corporate norms by sharing her story and embodying her energetic alignment to inspire and expand the perspective of what’s possible for others.
Kaila remembers being told her entire life to “give it the 24-hour rule,” only to discover she is a splenic projector with gate 51 - the gate of shock - as her most prominent trait, her Sun gate. She learned through Human Design that her magic lies in her quick, intuitive decision-making.
As a certified Human Design reader with a 6/2 profile, Kaila loves sharing how she has personally and professionally embodied her energetic alignment - from building a successful PR business as a Projector to continuously amplifying the parts of her that were conditioned to feel weird or wrong.
