Aquarius Season Horoscopes: Planning for the Future
As we end Capricorn season and move into Aquarius season, it is a great time to reflect on what we have let go of and what we have learned as the year turned over from 2020 to 2021.
In this second half of January, we have a few aspects assisting us in a transition from what was to what will be. It’s less about a completely fresh and brand new beginning, and more about taking what was working about the last chapter and incorporating it into what will be going forward.
On January 14th, we had the sun conjunct Pluto in 24°Capricorn, and with this aspect, power struggles and attempts to control a certain outcome can be highlighted, so we may have experienced that this past week.
The Astrology of Aquarius Season
From January 16th to 19th, Jupiter in Aquarius is square to Uranus - who is now direct in Taurus, and this aspect shows us what needs to be done, while also making us feel like keeping ourselves and surroundings safe and secure are more important to us than taking a risk.
The sun ingresses into Aquarius on the 19th as well. Aquarius season is all about doing our part and planning progressively for the future, through the choices we make in the present.
On January 20th, Mars is conjunct Uranus in 6°Taurus.
Mars is a personal planet and Uranus is a collective planet, and we can feel a greater sensitivity to energies that are not our own on the 20th and 21st of the month. This is also inauguration day in the United States, where we welcome in the president elect Joe Biden and vice president Kamala Harris, which many have been waiting for and will be watching.
On the 22nd, Mars squares Jupiter, which on the plus side elicits a lot of potential bravery within us, and on the minus side can lead to feelings of entitlement. So, check yourself for ego enlargement!
Then on January 24th, the sun is conjunct Saturn, and this aspect can be heavy. Yet, Venus is sextile to Neptune on this day as well. This would be a great day to escape temporarily through a fiction book, a walk in the woods or park, or another healthy way, rather than a day to be glued to a phone or other device, if we can help it. The 24th is a Sunday and a good day to take a break and take it easy.
Mercury Retrograde 2021
We have our first Mercury retrograde of the year coming up at the end of this month starting on the 30th (Mercury will be retrograding in Aquarius, too) and a few days next month where we will have six planets in Aquarius, too.

Aries
Aquarius season for you is a good time for focusing on your longer term goals. Allow yourself to be energized by the unconventional aspects of life during this time. Stimulating ideas are all around you, and involvement in community projects can offer a great change of pace from focus solely on yourself.
Casual relationships with friends, neighbors, and other acquaintances are more prominent now. This is a time to put your most progressive ideals at play and plant seeds and wishes for the future. Opportunities for expanding your horizons are offered now and are likely to come through your friends and social networks. You may derive inspiration from a talk with a friend or through making connections with new friends.
Taurus
This is a time where you are focused on accomplishing something important to you that can help the world. You may feel that your competency is being tested or challenged. What you put in is what you will get out, and patience is everything for you in this season. It is a great time for you to take your ideas and turn them into professional plans.
Fun times can come later, as productivity is on your side in this season and you’ll want to take advantage of that. With a practical and logical vision, the tangible results you desire are within reach, so keep at it. Recognition for your accomplishments happens for you during this season as well, and with that comes the responsibility to put any doubts to the side and stand in what you believe.
Gemini
Your focus is more outward than inward this season. You are likely feeling more adventurous than normal and willing to take a risk that you normally wouldn’t. It is true that there is no reward without risk, and taking a measured risk this season will serve you well. If you can’t go on a physical adventure right now, then you can plan for a future vacation, invest in your business or another business that you believe in, and expand your skill set by studying a topic that interests you and will come in handy in your life.
This is a time for feeding and heeding your spirit’s call, wherever that may take you. Fresh perspectives come from taking chances and you have opportunities for broadening your horizons if you are open to new experiences.
Cancer
Aquarius season for you is a good time to take a step back and focus on intimacy with your partner or with yourself. Pay attention to financial matters, along with anything else you may have been sweeping under the rug this winter. What we aren't paying attention to is usually tied to emotional matters and this is a great season for getting to the root of anything that needs some loving attention in your world.
Now is a good time to make a change if you feel you need to, like clearing out mental clutter or bad habits you may have taken on as a means of coping with or escaping the day to day. Talk to your loved ones and listen to what they have to say, they may have advice that you haven’t heard before.
Leo
You may be feeling an increased need to be with a partner when the sun is in your 7th house of Aquarius. This is more about having someone to bounce ideas off of, learn from, and grow with. It is a great season to seek to deepen that companionship and offer and receive mutual support from someone you can count on. This is not a season to focus on "me" but rather the "we" of it all.
Include others this season, as there is much to be learned from everyone that you communicate with. Go personal and deep and get to know the ones you love a little better. Additionally, if you have a business partner, or if you work one-on-one with clients, this season could be especially lit up for you.
Virgo
This season, your ego and self-esteem are based on the work you do, the services you provide, and your ability to adhere to a healthy structured routine. Details are even more important than usual for you, and paying attention to them makes all the difference. This season provides an opportunity to streamline your life so you are being as efficient as you possibly can going forward.
This is for you just as much as it is for the world, because the more you stay on track to your productivity and goals, the better your quality of life. Take some time to figure out what is working and do more of that, while getting rid of what isn't working any more. Eliminate distractions and sticking to your routine brings you the results you are seeking.
Libra
You are ready to express yourself creatively in some way this season. You may be coming out of a period of feeling protective of yourself, into a time of being protective of those around you and proud of the love you feel for those close to you. You encourage others to reach their goals and you are also ready to reach your own. You invite others to take notice, and inspire them too, as you shine and show your genuine most authentic self to the world.
This is a time for you to have fun with everything that you do, share your ideas, and enjoy your romantic nature. Hobbies, leisure time, playing like a child or with your children, and taking things lightly is what Aquarius season for you is all about. You're finding joy in the little things in life and may find yourself as more flirtatious than usual, too. The better you feel about things, the more you emanate joy. Put your creative spirit first and nurture yourself with play.
Scorpio
This is a period for nesting and focusing on matters of family and home. Spend time with your family this season. Exploring your heritage is a great way to spend this time. If you don't feel that where you currently are is a place you can root down into for the future, you may be considering the idea of a move to some place where you can settle down.
Try not to get too wrapped up into attachment to any one home or location, because your home is always what you make of it, and if it doesn't feel like home for you then you have the option to change that. Take steps to either move or to make your current place more of a comforting home space for you and somewhere you can truly relax when you retreat. This season for you is about nourishment in your home base and family life.
Sagittarius
With the sun highlighted in your house of communications for the next month, the focus is on social interactions. Your focus is also on strengthening communications with your neighbors and those in your local community. Organizing and putting time and effort towards a common goal brings you together with others who are like-minded to you.
You may find yourself to be especially resourceful during this time. Your cleverness and ability to make others laugh is heightened during this time as well. You can use your charm to persuade others or simply to offer a reprieve from the mundane. If there is a message you have been wanting to communicate through speaking or writing something, now is your time to get that message across where it will be heard.
Capricorn
Security is your biggest drive this season. Focus on grounding and staying connected to your "why" behind what you do and what you want to do. With the sun in your second house, you are paying special attention to financial security in particular. What you value is the root of what decisions you make, so this is a good time to reassess what you really value.
Note that this may be different from what you valued even a year ago. It is natural for us to grow and change, but this is a time for sticking to what you know and staying solid in the things that matter the most to you. Aquarius

You are starting a whole new cycle and you might find new levels of energy and motivation to start new things. It is a great time for a solo endeavor.
You are more in touch with your intuition and sense of purpose and identity. The next few weeks are a time of seizing opportunity and being enterprising and entrepreneurial. This is a time to be brave and carve out your own path in life. Eliminate any excuses for why you haven't gone after what you truly want and put your efforts toward that. Take the steps to get to where you want to be by this time next year.
Pisces
You are ending a cycle as the sun is in your twelfth house and this is a good time for the dreaming phase, which comes naturally to you. Allow yourself to explore all of your options going forward and to choose the one(s) that excite you the most. This is a great time to rest, recharge your batteries and reflect to prepare for whatever comes next.
Spending your free time in research, quiet contemplation, and meditation are useful ways to spend these next few weeks. Don’t waste time and energy on guilt or regret, but use your past experiences as guideposts of what to do next time. The sun will be in your first house next and will be a more outgoing time, but now is a time for you to retreat and relax.
