Full Moon in Aries

The full moon on October 1st will fall at 9°08’ of Aries at 2.05pm (PT). It is also considered the Harvest Moon, being the closest full moon to the equinox which occurred on September 22nd — an occurrence happening every 3 years (where it falls in October instead of September).

In addition, the end of the month will bring another full moon, known as a ‘Blue Moon’, which also only happens every 2-3 years. To say the least, this full moon will be intense.

Full Moon in Aries

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, representing the ‘self’ and individuality, which is opposing the sun in Libra, who represents the ‘other’ and relationships. This full moon may illuminate this tension between the assertion of self versus the ability to compromise and be diplomatic. Taking honest self-assessment whilst engaging in open and honest communication with others is key.

With Mars currently retrograding through Aries, there is already a lot of heat going on in the cosmos. This may be triggering uncomfortable emotions such as anger and frustration, coupled with impulsive emotional reactions.

Emotions can be understood as ‘energy in motion’, which creates a somatic experience in the body. Exerting and burning off this highly pressurized energy through exercise will help to work through these emotions. Remember to be mindful and practice cultivating patience before responding to any given emotional trigger.

Leadership and courage are some of the positive qualities that Aries represents. We need people who embody this more than ever, so take this time to examine how you can step up to the plate, to show up with integrity and radical honesty.

Chiron will also be tightly conjunct this full moon, an asteroid who represents the ‘wounded healer’ within us. This might bring your insecurities and self-doubts to the forefront —  remember, whatever is coming up is meant to be identified and acknowledged fully, with openness and compassion, in order to be healed.

We’ll be gathering on the full moon to work with this activated energy, by tapping into our bodies through movement, releasing what is no longer serving us and to foster connection with each other during these highly intense times. Our Moon Circles are completely free and open to all — for more information and registration, head over to our events page.
