Full Moon in Taurus

The second full moon of the month, also known as a ‘Blue Moon’, will fall in 8º38’ of Taurus on the 31st of October—yes, that’s right, on Halloween! It’s a rare occurrence, happening only about every 19 years.

The veils between realms are already thin on this mystical day, which means there will be an extra potency with the power of this full moon. Taurus, as an earth sign and ruled by Venus, is incredibly sensual and in touch with the material plane. It makes it the perfect time to go deeper into your self-love and self-care practices, perhaps creating your own Venus ritual to ground into this energy.

Taurus also illuminates our needs for safety and security, to have a solid foundation in order to feel grounded and supported. Organizing your finances might be a top priority, or attending to practical matters you have been neglecting will be helpful during this time.

Honesty, which is an integral value of Taurus, will bring authenticity to the forefront. The opposing sun in Scorpio, who is all about deep investigation and radical vulnerability, will help to encourage this self-evaluation: are you being real with yourself? And are you being real with others? Unearthing what is hidden in the shadows by shining a light on them is the first step to powerful transformation.

Uranus, the planet of rebellion and liberation, will be tightly conjunct this full moon. The impulsivity and maverick-like nature of Uranus is at odds with the permanence and stability that Taurus seeks. This aspect might cause unexpected emotions to surface, or unexpected events and accidents to occur. With Mercury also retrograding through Scorpio, it is extremely important to pay attention to the details and listen carefully before rushing into anything.

With all this electric cosmic energy in the air coincidentally aligning with the U.S Presidential Election, it will no doubt be a time of heightened tension. Get your vote in early if possible, be mindful of your own emotional needs during this time, and be sure to support those in your community who need it.

On the 29th of October, Oui We will be gathering for a Full Moon circle, to release what’s no longer serving us and to connect with other like-minded souls. The event is free and open to all—for more information and registration, head over to our events page.
