Pink Ladies

I just love how sometimes things align in a way in which someone shows up in your life, unexpected and you have that immediate connection.

This past weekend during the July 4th holiday, which means Essence Festival in New Orleans, I had the pleasure of meeting Candace. I'd actually spotted Candace all over the place a few season's ago at New York Fashion Week. I wasn't the only one - she was kinda hard to miss. (Getting shot by Facehunter - multiple times - and WWD, hiiiii fashion girl life goals.)

This past weekend Candace was scheduled for a visit to the city to cover street style and all the fashionable happenings for Essence Magazine. She emailed me a few weeks before traveling in asking if we could schedule some hang out time. We planned a little Sunday afternoon tour of a few of my favorite spots which resulted in a visit to Crescent Park, a tour of the Bywater and then brunch at Horn's.

For the record, every single person at the brunch table ordered Chicken & Waffles and I knew this crew would be fast friends.
