New Orleans Jazz Fest: Weekend 1 Recap

If you hang around here long enough you'll find that

a. I'm a total music junky

(I like my music like I like my champagne ... daily and in good size doses)

b. festival season, and specifically festivals of the musical variety make me the happiest.

I consider myself a lucky girl. Presently working in the art world with James Michalopoulos, one of the most prolific artists in New Orleans, if not the whole of the South, and prior to that spending years with a beauty brand that I absolutely stand fully behind in it's mission. AVEDA. Holla.

Obviously my love of fashion is what's behind my little company Southern Coalition of Fashion & Design, however! Music is where I started my real world career.

I worked in publicity management for major venues in college and directly post college and had a chance to be close to some of the world's most amazing musical acts. I have stories I could tell, some showing my young, extraordinary naivete, about the people I was so fortunate to meet.

So, this past weekend, I was over the new moon thrilled to have an opportunity to partner with Acura to capture the sights of New Orleans Jazz Festival on their behalf. Here's just a few of the snaps from the Jazz Fest Weekend 1.

If it were up to me every day would be crawfish day. I spent 30 minutes on a crawfish bread hunt. Bread, cheese and this amazingness, FTW.

Post fest. Father John Misty. Words are hard to find. Just go listen to the album and don't miss him next time. Or ever.

So much appreciation to Ben, who photo assisted me all weekend and pretty much nailed it. (His normal job is playing the tunes, not helping to photograph them, however, I think he's got it either way).

Catch him with my kickass gf Kristin Diable, who's playing the Acura Stage Friday at 11:15 and then again at Hi Ho Lounge for Fest After Hours.

Weekend 2, coming for ya!
