Carnival season is fully underway. It's the time of year I remember why I fell in love with this place. There's not much like it in the world and every time I watch it pull someone in I have an immediate kinship with them. If she gets you, then so do I.

I spent some time the other morning on WWLTV sharing a few of my favorite Mardi Gras accessories made by local designers and here's who made the list.

1. Krewe Du Optic sunnies (they make an appearance here on the reg).

2. Jolie & Elizabeth's "Do Whatcha Wanna" Sweatshirt (I fell in fast love with these ladies when I moved to New Orleans, always a favorite).

3. Loomed NOLA's Turkish Towel in Mardi Gras festive colors. (I lived with these Loomed wares this past summmer perfect for the beach, bath or as a wrap in the evening).

4. Matthew Arthur's custom fascinator. Because sequins that size. Yes.

If you're traveling in I love this post from The Together Traveler. Great tips for experiencing the city on a budget from a local who travels the world.

Enjoy it you guys! Celebrate everything.
