July: The Slow, Deep Breath Before the August Storm
Hey everyone, here's a little sweet little peek at last week's Scorpio moon from my new telescope. Too cool not to share! We've had some planets shifting signs, shaking up our Earthly energy so let's get to it.
Happy post fourth of July! I must admit that I’m biased towards the holiday because my birthday is July 3rd - yes, your humble Zodiac Mack is indeed a Cancerian and turned the boring, yet oddly ripe age of 26. There’s been some tough aspects coming into play these last weeks that will be setting the tone for the first half of the month. Mercury and Mars have been conjunct in the sky. When these two come together they ignite assertive communication, sharp and fast thinking, competitiveness, and the need to turn thoughts into action. As this pair briefly exchange communications, they run into an opposition with Pluto over the weekend. This opposition will likely intensify conversations and add a potentially heavy depth to them. It’s also likely right now for fights to break out - since peoples actions (Mars) and speech (Mercury) are at odds with Pluto (hidden tensions & power plays).
🌪 🦀 July is essentially the slow, deep breath before the storm in August. While there are no major planetary alignments to note, there are certainly fluctuating periods of tension and relief. Throughout July, we can expect to be exploring the idea of “old wounds” that have embedded themselves in our emotional/physical bodies. Old wounds we’ve kept from childhood regarding our natural instincts; old wounds regarding how we view ourselves in society. There will also be bouts of impulse, anger, or warrior like energy that flare up and potentially go overboard in our personal lives and society at large. Nevertheless, July will prove to be a powerful time for diving deeply into creative endeavors and exploring higher levels of awareness.
🌛 We began the month smack dab in the middle of a power struggle from an opposition between Mars (self assertion & aggression) and Pluto (control & power) on 7/2. There were likely explosive outbursts of unearthed anger that made their way to the forefront of people’s psyches during that first week. Intense bursts of energy emerge, asking to be channeled as positively as possible. This aspect will heighten a tendency towards irritability, moodiness, and willfulness.
People in your life, or you, may be set on reclaiming personal power and making their stance known in the world, and not so nicely. Pick your battles wisely, people will be looking for a fight. Instead of getting caught up, try to find a physical outlet.
