June Astro Update: A Month of Pleasure, Beauty & More
♀ Let us rejoice, Venus FINALLY enters Taurus today! Venus, our planet of love and relationships, has had an unusually rough year so far. She’s been busy dipping in and out of the firey world of Aries since February due to her long standing retrograde. The prolonged and uncomfortable time she spent in Aries has taught us to re-evaluate the importance of our own individual needs in our relationships. Venus in Aries tends strongly towards self-interest, which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes in our relationships we sacrifice too much without getting what we need in return. We may have dissolved unions that were no longer serving us, or spent time communicating what each partner needs on a personal basis for the relationship to function more effectively.
This week Venus moved into a sign that she absolutely adores. Venus is in rulership in Taurus, so instead of being the pissed off goddess who needs more space in Aries, she softens and becomes an advocate for pleasure, beauty, sensuality, and love. She wants less fighting and more love making. With Venus in Taurus, it’s a great time to redecorate your home and beautify your life. It’s a great time for cooking meals and having long lazy dinners with loved ones, equipped with many a dessert. Theres a desire for harmony which can help patch up any areas of your relationship that may have gotten roughed up the last few months. Venus in Taurus wants to listen to beautiful music and absorb art, go out on a date to a museum or see a show. Warning - this is a time where diets can go a bit awry, because we’re craving sweets and fall prey to over indulging in both alcohol and food. Venus will stay in the sign of the bull until 7/4.
♂ In regard to other planetary movements, our primal aggressor Mars moved into Cancer on 6/4. Mars is in fall in Cancer, which means he has a harder time operating at the true level of his provocative nature. Mars is forthright, while Cancer is indirect. Mars wants to sever, Cancer wants to keep. The sword of Mars doesn’t strike quite as effectively when it’s cutting through the high watery waves of the crab. Expect people to act a bit more passive aggressively and respond more strongly to their moods.
☿ Mercury also makes a happy move into the sign of Gemini, a sign which he rules allowing his speedy, glib nature to prosper. This fires up our ability to communicate and think fast. Mercury stays in Gemini until 6/21, so take advantage of the increase in ideas and thoughts while you can.
