Jupiter Enters Scorpio: Expansion, Exploration & Experience

♃ ✨  Today welcomes a collective change as the largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter, changes sign and moves into Scorpio until November 2018. I think it’s safe to say that we’re ready to welcome in a breath of fresh air into our lives as 2017 has proved to be emotionally challenging for many of us. Jupiter, among other things, represents expansion, exploration, and experience. Wherever Jupiter travels through our charts, we are in-taking in that area of life.

Mack and the Zodiac

🕊  ♎️  Jupiter spent the last year moving through Libra - helping us hone in on issues with “the other” in our lives. Through out this time, we’ve learned lessons in harmony and relationship on both personal and collective levels. We became fully aware of the power we have when we band together. The women’s march, the countless political protests, and the support we collectively share in the wake of mass tragedy represent the goals of Jupiter’s time in Libra. Of course these events don’t exist in a vacuum, they’re directly linked to an opposite. Individual power, chaos, and violence. Uranus in Aries is the very embodiment of this extreme energy. Jupiter came into three perfect oppositions with Uranus over the last year and each time corresponded with violence, outrage, and political uproar. The final opposition between the two went exact Sept. 26, just days before the Las Vegas massacre. Jupiter fortunately has new ground to cover and has completed his volatile conversations with Uranus for now. ♈️ 🔥

🔮  So, what will the next year of Jupiter in Scorpio have in store for us? An exploration of the unknown. A dive into the deep unconscious. Hyper sexualization-for good or for bad. Exploring death. Growing into mysticism, alchemy, the occult. Entering ego death. Amplifying the intensity of living. A desire for mystery and penetrating powerful emotions. A journey to plunge beneath the surface into the heart of the underworld. Where we’re headed is a powerful place. We will feel the need to explore to our innermost core. Scorpio doesn’t do bullshit. It can’t. It will push us to go beyond the surface pleasantries and light charisma of Libra and into the deep, dark heart of the matter.

♏️  Scorpio is very much concerned with merging with another, often on a sexual level that borders on transcendental. Libra is aware of the other and tries all their life to balance and incorporate them into their personal lives. Scorpio wants to take it a step further, they want to transcend with the other, by experiencing a mutual ego death and merging together so they become one. Woah, lol. While the above mentioned isn’t very fluffy and fun - it may be just what the doctor ordered. We have to courageously descend into our own basements, clear out the cobwebs of what we believe about ourselves, and come face to face with our demons. We can’t move forward until we know exactly who we are, and we sort out what is crucial to our soul purpose.

Aries Full Moon

October’s full moon occurs on October 5th at 12° Aries. Mars, the god of war, is the ruler of this full moon. This opens up the possibility for angry and hot tempered outbursts fueled by strong emotions. There is a need to assert oneself, to strive, and to become an independent entity of force under the energy of Aries.

Aries Full Moon

♈️ 🌕 This full moon ruled by aggressive and occasionally violent Mars is unfortunately fitting for the events of the world this week. People are very rightfully angry, outraged, and deeply emotional. Anger is a difficult emotion for most people to deal with, but it is one that needs room to be actualized so it can be expressed in a healthy fashion. Mars is all about the self-asserted attempt of striving against an obstacle and coming out a survivor. We all need to experience this feeling in order to exercise the power of our Mars energy in a positive way. Mars is raw body energy. It’s a great time to get physical, or if thats not your thing, find something that tests you and pushes you to your limits.

🚶🏽 v. 👬 This full moon activates the Aries/Libra axis, which is the Me vs. We in our charts. Where Aries is concerned with it’s solo, Libra is concerned about their harmonies. This full moon is a great time to analyze old and outgrown patterns of codependency or sole self-interest. Relationship issues arise regarding each individuals independence as separate people vs. the functionality of the couple. This full moon is square Pluto - which calls for deep emotional healing, confrontation and action. Breakthroughs in relationships are likely to come in the form of intense and possibly uncomfortable conversations - but don’t be afraid to tread into the dark to seek the very essence of what really brings you together with someone. Shake ups can also occur on a foundational level which can rattle established relationships, as cosmic pressure is applied to see solid proof of growth and importance.

♏️ On October 10th, we have a big cosmic shift coming with Jupiter leaving Libra behind and moving forward into Scorpio. For the last year we’ve been learning to work on our compassion and relationships with others. Now, as we move into Scorpio territory, it will be about merging beyond pleasant superficialities and getting to the heart of the problem that divides us. Wherever your Scorpio house falls - Jupiter will be coming to hang out for the next year and will be expanding that area of lifer you. Jupiter is said to bring abundance- so we will have an abundance of Scorpio feels. Is that a good thing? Lol.. eh who knows, but at this stage of our evolutionary growth its probably time we all reach down to the root of our souls and pluck out some of the surrounding weeds that have weakened our structures.

The Solar Eclipse: Change the World With Your Power

Monday a total solar eclipse streaked a path across the entirety of the United States. Eclipses are intense, drastic, and direct change bringers. With the arrival of this long awaited eclipse came the most powerful new moon of 2017. New moons summon us inward - they call for contemplation, seed-planting, and future oriented focus. This is the second new moon occurring in Leo this year, the first taking place on 7/23 at 0° Leo and Monday's at 28° Leo. This means we’re getting a double dose of Leo initiative this year.

Post Eclipse Astrology

♌️ 🎤💃🏼 Leo at it’s core longs for self expression. It wants to create, dance, paint and sing to fully realize itself. It longs for it’s own sense of authority and admiration. We're being asked to get in touch with our inner child. The child who proudly holds up whatever creation it scribbled with markers or the child who sings loud and unabashedly, putting on a performance for its parents. When this new moon crosses our sun, stripping us briefly of our warm glowing August sunshine, we’ll be left in the dark pondering both upward and inward. Who was I intended to be? Maybe our kid selves know more about us than we do now.

🌞 🌝  When our powerful sun is dominated by the seemingly docile moon, she takes the throne. The solar principle is a masculine one, extroverted and assertive. The ultra feminine, receptive, and reflective moon showed us her power by plunging us into a place of interior awareness. We can plunge into the depths of our soul and emotions. The moon’s brief conquering of the sun will send us spiraling into this internal darkness - seeking our truest motivations and feelings. We will blindly feel and fumble around inside, tracing our hands over the familiar textures and grooves of our souls to verify what is real and there all along.

♍️ 🎭 ❤️  All the while Mercury travels backwards in Virgo, a sign in which he is extremely dignified and detailed. Mercury retrograde only adds more emphasis onto inward thinking. It’s a time when we go back, having missed something important, only to dust it off and add it to our arsenal of awareness. This total solar eclipse is conjunct Mars at 20° Leo, the planet of war and self assertion in the sign of pride - putting him at the planetary front lines. This potent new moon and Mars eclipse energy wants us to begin a fresh start (new moon) drastically, with courage strength (eclipse, Mars) in our personal sphere of creativity and self expression (Leo). In these tough times, it’s hard to imagine cultivating one’s joy and art. It seems selfish and out of place when so much is happening on a global scale. But by cultivating yourself, your voice, your vision, and your love - you can change the world with your power. Take the time to witness your shadow today, to find what’s gone missing, and bring it into the light.

Spontaneous Combustion

⚡️♂⚔️ ♅ Yesterday Mars entered into a stand-off square with Uranus. When Mars and Uranus are square to one another, they tend to produce large amounts of hyper-active energy and strong feelings of anti-authority. We can expect bursts of chaos to flare up, for Mars and Uranus are easily incited and firey by nature. Often this pair of planets incites revolution, freedom fighters, and eccentric action being taken. Be mindful of how this square plays out in your personal life as well as the world at large. Perhaps there aren’t flames and revolutionary cries taking place in your home (I hope), but be mindful of the possibility of that echo coming from somewhere within you.

Fire in the Sky

Where would you like to take some spontaneous action? Could you do it productively, without burning bridges and scorching people’s feelings? While this configuration stirs up tendencies toward anger and violence, one CAN use it constructively. Try to tackle ares of your life where you feel you need breathing room. Create an intense work out for yourself. Do something physical on this day to help move the emotional flare ups along.

☽ ♈️  Meanwhile, the third quarter moon (a time that represents a crisis on consciousness) traveled through the remainder of Aries for the rest of the day. The moon came into a conjunction with Uranus at 11pm EST, further kindling the heightened and restless flames of the Mars/Uranus aspect. Try to let off some steam! By this morning the moon moved into strong and stable Taurus, where the ashes of the weekend can be more calmly spread.

July: The Slow, Deep Breath Before the August Storm

Hey everyone, here's a little sweet little peek at last week's Scorpio moon from my new telescope. Too cool not to share! We've had some planets shifting signs, shaking up our Earthly energy so let's get to it.

Happy post fourth of July! I must admit that I’m biased towards the holiday because my birthday is July 3rd - yes, your humble Zodiac Mack is indeed a Cancerian and turned the boring, yet oddly ripe age of 26. There’s been some tough aspects coming into play these last weeks that will be setting the tone for the first half of the month. Mercury and Mars have been conjunct in the sky. When these two come together they ignite assertive communication, sharp and fast thinking, competitiveness, and the need to turn thoughts into action. As this pair briefly exchange communications, they run into an opposition with Pluto over the weekend. This opposition will likely intensify conversations and add a potentially heavy depth to them. It’s also likely right now for fights to break out - since peoples actions (Mars) and speech (Mercury) are at odds with Pluto (hidden tensions & power plays).

🌪 🦀  July is essentially the slow, deep breath before the storm in August. While there are no major planetary alignments to note, there are certainly fluctuating periods of tension and relief. Throughout July, we can expect to be exploring the idea of “old wounds” that have embedded themselves in our emotional/physical bodies. Old wounds we’ve kept from childhood regarding our natural instincts; old wounds regarding how we view ourselves in society. There will also be bouts of impulse, anger, or warrior like energy that flare up and potentially go overboard in our personal lives and society at large. Nevertheless, July will prove to be a powerful time for diving deeply into creative endeavors and exploring higher levels of awareness.

🌛  We began the month smack dab in the middle of a power struggle from an opposition between Mars (self assertion & aggression) and Pluto (control & power) on 7/2. There were likely explosive outbursts of unearthed anger that made their way to the forefront of people’s psyches during that first week. Intense bursts of energy emerge, asking to be channeled as positively as possible. This aspect will heighten a tendency towards irritability, moodiness, and willfulness.

People in your life, or you, may be set on reclaiming personal power and making their stance known in the world, and not so nicely. Pick your battles wisely, people will be looking for a fight. Instead of getting caught up, try to find a physical outlet.

July Astro Update: Lightness, Beauty & Making Connections

♀♉️ ➡️ ♊️   Yesterday (on 7/4) Venus (love & relationships) slid out of sensual Taurus and giddily into social Gemini making a most admirable attempt at lightening the mood as of late. She hates to leave lovely Taurus behind, but will fare alright in the sign of the twins. Venus loves to party, beautify, and make connections with the other people in our lives, so while she’s in Gemini she will sparkle with lightness, clever wit, and gaiety. Venus in Gemini isn’t concerned with making long-lasting connections, but about getting out with friends and exploring the local scene. Take the time for exploring neighborhood hang-outs and chatting it up with new friends. Mercury also perfected a square with Uranus - conjuring up eccentric thoughts and breakthroughs in both message and thought. ☿

☿ ♊️ ➡️ ♌️  Today, 7/5 Mercury (communication & logic) jumps into Leo, gearing our minds toward play, creativity, and romance. This is an artistically inclined place for Mercury to spend some time in, but it will have everyone a tad more me-focused than we-focused. Communications get louder and more public, but not necessarily more strategic.

♂ ➡️ ⬅️ ⚡️ ♇ Mars is currently separating from his opposition with Pluto over the weekend, which stirred up his feelings of powerlessness and hidden heavy emotions. With both Venus and Mercury changing signs - we will feel a somewhat lighter shift, if not for a brief moment, before the pretty intense full moon. The full moon in Capricorn gleams through early on the morning of 7/9 and is laden with intense aspects. This full moon will be conjunct Pluto, while the Sun will be conjunct Mars, suggesting that both of the luminaries will be fired up, fighting for control, and seeking a balance for their mutual desire for power. The days surrounding this full moon are bound to be eventful, emotional, and potent. Be mindful that everyone else will be feeling as emotionally riled up as you are. More on this full moon as it grows closer!☽ ♑️

Cancer Season: Sign of the Mother, the Nurturer, the Psychic, the Feeler

♋️ 🌑  Hey everyone! Happy Summer Solstice and Cancer New Moon! I know what you're thinking. (cough, Mackenzie the solstice was 6/21 and the new moon was 6/23! Girl you are LATE). You must find it in your heart to forgive me! Life has been slow to resume normalcy after a road trip vacation in Colorado. Not to mention, the three planets transiting through Cancer right now all fall in my 12th house - which is an area that highlights hidden things and being behind the scenes. So with all the 12th house stuff going on, I've been quietly hiding in the background, contemplating life. Now, I'll quit begging for forgiveness and give you the scoop on what our planets have been up to!

cancer season

🍼 🌊  So as I said, we now have three of the "personal planets" transiting through Cancer. When I say personal planets, I'm specifically referring to the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars - because these five are much closer to earth's orbit than the rest, and are therefore closer to our physical being. They also embody very human like qualities. The Sun is our individuality, the Moon is our emotions, Mercury our thoughts, Mars our drive, and Venus our relationships. After Mars the asteroid belt begins, marking a large rocky boundary. Jupiter and Saturn fall outside of this asteroid belt - and while they're still personal in everyone's chart, they have a more societal and spiritual bent to them. The "transpersonal planets" are Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. They don't have a serious impact on our personal lives because they move so slowly that they're considered to color entire generations.

🌙 ♋️  Ok, Mini planet lesson complete. Three of these personal planets are falling into the first of the water signs - the crab. The sign of the mother, the nurturer, the psychic, the feeler. Cancer is all about your tribe. Your family. Where you come from. Your roots. Your past. Planets in Cancer are deeply sensitive and changeable - since Cancer is ruled by the moon. Cancer is concerned with how we were conditioned as kids. Stuff from early childhood rises to the surface of the psyche and we can be easily triggered or become defensive. It's a good time to be in touch with your family - in whatever form they take - and get in sync with your tribe. It's also a time when people may be feeling overly sentimental, or scared to move forward - as the crab is typically indirect in it's movements and is known for being attached to the past. It can be a very emotional time as well, where the old pains we may have harbored from being a kid now resurface for re-evaluation - seeking an outlet or integration. The new moon that occurred over the weekend also was in Cancer - marking the beginning of a new lunar cycle. The moon is dark in the sky right now, waiting patiently to be painted with light and infused with energy for the goals that lie ahead in July.

The end of June and beginning of July looks to be a bit cantankerous. Moods, security, and emotions are at the forefront of peoples minds - as Mars, Mercury, and the Sun in Cancer all come to oppose brooding, heavy Pluto in Capricorn through out the beginning of July. This will be stirring up some intensity in people - conjuring up potential power plays, ego drives, fights, penetrative thinking, and transformations on many levels. Pluto is lord of the underworld - so he will likely be bringing some things out of darkness and into the light. Think secrets being revealed or hidden matters finding clarity. Try to keep your cool and nurture the little kid in you. Everyone wants to feel safe and loved more than usual. Cancer wants to be the baby and the mother - flip flopping between the two. Try to honor both. After finding your comfort grounded and secure - take care of yourself when you need.

Full Moon In Sagittarius

This morning the Full Moon went exact in Sagittarius at 18°. This a pretty pleasant lunation, particularly because Jupiter, the ruler of Sag, went DIRECT today after being retrograde since early February! Jupiter has been transiting through the sign of Libra since last fall. He moves about one sign per year.

Full Moon In Sagittarius

This means he’s been expanding, brightening, and highlighting the Libra ruled areas of our lives. He got to enjoy his retrograde period, taking his sweet time to reflect on the loftier life goals we may have, but with this incoming forward motion he will be expecting us to begin taking some action on the things quieter things we’ve been contemplating. Jupiter wants to get down to business when he’s direct. He wants growth, always! He is the biggest planet in our solar system, after all. To see where this expansive Jupiter action is taking place in your life, look to the house that Libra rules in your chart! Ex: Libra rules my third house- which is a house mainly concerned with education, writing, and communication. Here I am, trying to get back on track with a more regular approach to my zodiac posts and beginning to writing articles for local magazines! Not to mention having literally just completed an entire year of fundamentals classes at Kepler college. Education and writing much? Plenty. Thanks Jup.

Anyway! Let’s talk about this full moon. The sun is at 18° Gemini- which tinges the Sun withspeediness, social dexterity, and a desire to learn a little bit about a lot of things. The moon is at 18° Sagittarius, opposed the Sun. Sagittarius desires knowledge too, but in a more grand psychological/spiritual sense, being Jupiter ruled. Sagittarius is interested in self expression, social reform, and freedom. This full moon in Sagittarius is glowing in all of our charts, meaning there’s a part in all of us seeking expansion, philosophy, and idealism. Again, look to the house where Sag rules! This full moon is conjunct bad boy Saturn, whose been working his way through Sagittarius since 2015, and doling out ever so lovely and anticipated Saturn Returns for those born approximately between 1986-1988. The Moon conjunct Saturn is typically viewed as kind of a bummer aspect- it has a tendency to tie a heavy, somber anchor to the emotions. In the case of our lunation today though, it comes in more handy than hurtful. Since the moon is in jolly Sagittarius, it can get tad bit carried away with idealism, free-speech, and overindulgence in just about anything. Saturn will help give a strong dose of reality to this somewhat overzealous moon. Saturns job is to remind you that their are limits in life for a reason. This full moon is also in a T-square to Neptune-(meaning the sun and moon are both at a 90° angle, square, to Neptune.) This tosses in a taste of abstractions, illusions, deceptions, over the top romanticism, and general dreaminess. This implies most of us will be feeling the itch to indulge in a really day dreamy fantasy or want to throw back more than a few drinks, to get closer to that feeling of nirvana that Neptune so craves. Just be weary of your desire to escape! Don’t worry though, if you get too out of line, Saturn will slap you silly.

June Astro Update: A Month of Pleasure, Beauty & More

♀  Let us rejoice, Venus FINALLY enters Taurus today! Venus, our planet of love and relationships, has had an unusually rough year so far. She’s been busy dipping in and out of the firey world of Aries since February due to her long standing retrograde. The prolonged and uncomfortable time she spent in Aries has taught us to re-evaluate the importance of our own individual needs in our relationships. Venus in Aries tends strongly towards self-interest, which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes in our relationships we sacrifice too much without getting what we need in return. We may have dissolved unions that were no longer serving us, or spent time communicating what each partner needs on a personal basis for the relationship to function more effectively.

Venus in Taurus

This week Venus moved into a sign that she absolutely adores. Venus is in rulership in Taurus, so instead of being the pissed off goddess who needs more space in Aries, she softens and becomes an advocate for pleasure, beauty, sensuality, and love. She wants less fighting and more love making. With Venus in Taurus, it’s a great time to redecorate your home and beautify your life. It’s a great time for cooking meals and having long lazy dinners with loved ones, equipped with many a dessert. Theres a desire for harmony which can help patch up any areas of your relationship that may have gotten roughed up the last few months. Venus in Taurus wants to listen to beautiful music and absorb art, go out on a date to a museum or see a show. Warning - this is a time where diets can go a bit awry, because we’re craving sweets and fall prey to over indulging in both alcohol and food. Venus will stay in the sign of the bull until 7/4.

♂ In regard to other planetary movements, our primal aggressor Mars moved into Cancer on 6/4. Mars is in fall in Cancer, which means he has a harder time operating at the true level of his provocative nature. Mars is forthright, while Cancer is indirect. Mars wants to sever, Cancer wants to keep. The sword of Mars doesn’t strike quite as effectively when it’s cutting through the high watery waves of the crab. Expect people to act a bit more passive aggressively and respond more strongly to their moods.

☿ Mercury also makes a happy move into the sign of Gemini, a sign which he rules allowing his speedy, glib nature to prosper. This fires up our ability to communicate and think fast. Mercury stays in Gemini until 6/21, so take advantage of the increase in ideas and thoughts while you can.

Happy Gemini Season!

♊️☉ The Sun entered the sign of the twins over this past weekend marking the FINAL act of Spring.

Gemini Season by Mackenzie Greer

When the Sun transits through Gemini, we become imbued with the desire to explore our personal curiosities and our local social scenes. This sign is fast, mentally active, and looking to have a little fun. Gemini is great at piecing together little bits of information, but can often struggle with getting to the heart of the matter or staying focused. You can notice a tendency to vacillate during the sun’s stay in this sign - which isn't always a bad thing! Both your mind AND body may be wanting to wander, sometimes in separate directions, to unexplored territory. For our workaholics out there - this should be invited and not totally shunned! Think of the new inspiration you can gain from getting out.

♊️✨Gemini is a MUTABLE sign. The mutables are responsible for deconstructing and readapting the season for whats coming up. Aries brought it in, Taurus held it down, Gemini takes it apart! Think of what you want to consciously leave behind in these waning weeks of Spring, for this 1st quarter of the cycle is coming to a close and we need to be able to part with some unnecessary baggage.

♊️💨 Gemini is an AIR sign - meaning it’s main focus is on the intake of information. They relate to the world through their speech and thought. Air is detached from the heavy emotions of water, the over-enthusiasm of fire, and the mundane practicality of earth. Air is floating above it all trying to gain objectivity - it’s cerebral, logical, social, communicative, and often perceived as aloof. Air signs can struggle with intimacy because of their personal need to enrich themselves through contact with tons of different people. Gemini is often flitting about from one flower to the next, trying to get a taste of everything but not settling on one. Get out and socialize if you feel like you’ve been cooped up - everyone will be feeling a bit more chatty and have the need to explore their local neighborhood. Teaching, learning, and schooling are also under it’s rulership. It’s a great time to explore a class in something you’ve always been interested in, or maybe hone your writing skills (if your attention span will allow!)

☽ We also have an upcoming New Moon at 4°  Gemini on May 25th! The days surrounding this new moon are ideal for setting intentions for the upcoming month of June. Focus on all of this Gemini stuff! What do you want to learn? Say? Write? Where do you want to go? It’s time to say goodbye to the trials & tribulations of Spring and come into summer with a refocused and refreshed plan for yourself.

Scorpio Full Moon: An Emotional Spotlight

☉<—>☽ = ♏︎ Today the full moon goes exact at 20° Scorpio, shining it’s emotional spotlight of truth onto our psyche’s darkest and well hidden places.

Phoenix Rising: Full Moon In Scorpio

Scorpio is a sign that seeks to plunge past superficial encounters. It feels far more comfortable cultivating intense emotional experiences in its day to day than sitting around indulging in crowd pleasing small talk. It wants to get to the heart and soul of the matter, sleeping deep beneath the earth. This is why Scorpio is often associated with psychotherapy, mystery, and investigative research - because its natural mode of operation is to dig deep and get its hands dirty.

✨🌕 Transformation is a word that often gets tagged onto Scorpio in modern astrology to deal with its classic involvement with straight up death. Death is an incredibly hard concept for our delicate human egos to accept, so when we can lightly label it “transformation” instead, we find it a bit easier to swallow. Ultimately, death & transformation are involved with this sign - for Scorpio often faces many phoenix-like experiences, where it rises from the firey ashes of what it once was to be born again.

Scorpio gets its reputation for being one of the most sexual signs of the zodiac and this is due mostly to “the ego death” desired when involved in the act. Scorpio by nature wants to escape the chains of it’s own ego, it wants to move beyond itself. When two souls merge into one through sex, they both experience a death of their own ego by merging together in that moment. This is the level of emotional intensity that Scorpio seeks out. Scorpio doesn’t want to have sex just for the sake of sex, that’s more taurus (sensually-based), Scorpio want’s to have sex to literally transcend the earth.

I’m giving you this run down of the typical Scorpionic personality so you have a better idea of how to work with the natural energy of this full moon today. You may see themes mentioned above surfacing in your own life. There may be a desire to investigate your own psyche, root out other people’s problems, or go below the surface in one way or another. You may long to feel heightened feelings of ecstasy or escape, and can easily be swayed to drinking and drugs to find that sense of elevation. Or maybe you just need a good ol’ fashion lay to get you through your day haha! Whatever it is you’re experiencing, it’s likely asking to be examined under the moody, brood gleaming beams of this Scorpio full moon.

Nodal Shift: New Focus & Release

The nodes shift signs....

Nodal Shift Atro Report

💫 ♌️ / ♒️ Today the north & south node of the Moon are shifting into a new set of signs, marking a pivotal shift in everyones personal focus for the next year and a half. The nodes are super sensitive points, not real bodies- that travel backwards on an axis through the zodiac. The north node is considered a point of intake and the south node one of release. The north node represents an area of life where our souls are longing to ingest and learn more information, where we're striving towards something new to incorporate. The south node represents an area where we’ve become too dependent and cling to past experiences out of safety.

🌀 ♍️ / ♓️ Since November 2015, the nodes have been traveling through everyone’s Virgo/Pisces house, doling out some painful lessons on surrender and service. The north node (point of intake) has been in Virgo- we may have taken new steps in getting organized in our day to day tasks, or learned about service for the simple sake of others. The south node (point of release) was in Pisces- where we’ve been working on letting go of feelings of self-victimization and excessive self sacrifice, learning where to draw the line of helping another and helping oneself.

🔥 ♌️ / 💨 ♒️ The nodes take their very first step into the Leo/Aquarius axis today, into a whole new part of your chart, where they will remain until late 2018. The north node will now reside in Leo- ushering forth a desire for fun, creativity, romance, and a need to regain self-love after a rather self-critical time in Virgo. Playing and expression of ones true self will become crucial. The south node will enter into Aquarius, saying it’s time to release notions of emotional detachment, inflexibility, and the unnecessary lengths we go to for apparent non-conformity.

🌕 ♏️ The full moon in Scorpio arrives tomorrow, the evening of May 10th, casting a palpable moodiness in the air. It will be a crucial time to find a way to purge some of our uglier and lodged emotions- some of us will drink n' drug with our pals, some will sweat it all out at the gym, or some will brood alone writing dark poems by candlelight lol. Full moon post up tomorrow!

May Astro Report Part 1: A Self-Focused & Independent Fire Goddess of a Month

Happy May everyone! Yesterday marked the half way point of Spring, meaning were inching ever closer to Summer. April was one for the books, with retrogrades firing off left and right and planets tied up in conflict. Much of May will be spent trying to re-organize the things that fell apart before us, while also attempting to usher in a new level of stability and higher understanding of the events that conspired for us in April.

May Astrology Report

♀  May starts off hot with a freshly entered Venus in Aries. She’s spending an unusual amount of time in Aries this year thanks to her recent retrograde. Venus was in Aries for the majority of Feb & March - so recall your feelings regarding relationship, finances, beauty and art around then - and expect for those themes to be making a reappearance. This time around the story will be different though, because the retrograde showed us quite clearly what needed changing and releasing. We were asked to review our most intimate relationships and long held values to see what still applies to us and what felt obsolete.

Now that she’s in direct motion, we’re moving forward with the narrative. Venus (love, relationship & harmony) in Aries (me, myself & i) is an aggressively self-focused and independent fire goddess. She has a real bite to her in this sign. The women’s march took place back when Venus was in Aries. It’s a time where women demand the respect and recognition they deserve. Everyone’s a bit more irritated, self interested and faster to quarrel. Women aren’t to be messed right now.

☿ Mercury (communication, information, & transportation) is also dwindling in Aries, and stations to go direct on May 3rd. Rebellious and invigorating new ideas and messages are to be expected for the first half of the month, since paused Mercury is conjunct (merged with) Uranus (rebellion, explosions, & disruptions) in the sky. This is a good time to explore the firey and unconventional ideas that come up. Mental energies and nervous systems are heightened by this conjunction, leading people towards erratic thoughts & actions. People in your life (or you) can communicate new and unexpected things at this time in a brash, unorthodox fashion.

New Moon In Taurus | Craving Something New? A Steady & Nurturing Environment Comes

☉☽ ♉️ Earlier this morning, the birth of a brand new lunar cycle came to life at 6° Taurus. New moons are always the right time for tackling new endeavors and for intention setting. It is the new seed being planted in the deep dark heart of the earth - and given the right amount of positive reinforcement, we can expect this seed to ultimately flourish. Taurus is an earth sign and fixed in it’s nature - which means it’s less interested in fresh starts and finishing touches, but invested in steady maintenance. This is where Taurus gets its reputation for often being a stabilizing and practical influence.

♈️ -> ♉️ Aries represents the very beginning of Spring - where the weather is tumultuous, hot one day and wet and cold the next. We crave something new for ourselves and we launch out, perhaps not all that prepared to go get it. Thus, when Taurus season arrives, we require the fixed and focused energy that the sign brings in order to harness the exciting initiative that was sparked by Aries. Taurus rules over the part of Spring that is “fixed”. It works slowly but effectively to steady the environment, nurturing the soil of the earth with rain to call forth the flowers. April (aries) showers bring May (taurus) flowers.

♀ Most of us were really feeling those April showers, perhaps almost as if at any moment we may slip and drift even further downstream in them. Venus, the relationship planet, had dipped back into oceanic Pisces for most of the month, drenching us in emotion and we finally get to crawl back out onto shore as of Friday the 28th, when she re-enters Aries for yet another go. Lest ye forget, Venus in Aries is one pissed off scored wielding warrior goddess. Aries is the sign of Venus’ detriment because she becomes too self focused, thus confusing the true nature of Venus which is to harmonize and integrate everyone’s needs. It’s likely that we’ll be hearing more about women once again retaliating against the patriarchy in the news, or on a more personal level we will be asking ourselves “are MY needs getting met in my relationship?"
